What’s On in Gloucester | 5-11 May 2014

A weekly round-up of events and happenings in and around Gloucester compiled by the Gloucester Visitor Economy Team.

Specially featured this week is the 16th Annual Shakespeare in Gloucester Festival:

  • The Merchant of Venice presented by Newcastle’s Stooged Theatre Company – Friday 9 May & Saturday 10 May : Still seats available for Friday supper show & Saturday dinner show. Great show, great fun, book a table now!
  • Elizabethan Faire & Farmers Market – Saturday 10 May: 20 new stalls with artisan treasures join 40 stalls from the Gloucester Farmers Market, entertainment inlcudes battling jouster knights, morris dancers, street performers plus fun & games for the kids.
  • Bell Shakespeare Workshops – Friday 09 May & Saturday 10 May: Presented by an experienced Arts educator from the renowned Bell Shakespeare Theatre Company.
  • Canned Hamlet by the GACCI Players – Thursday 08 May & Saturday 10 May: A hilarious Shakespeare spoof performed by the local Arts Council theatrical ensemble from GACCI.
