Watch out for easels, paintbrushes and some pretty cool artwork produced by very talented artists from NSW and Queensland throughout Gloucester in late October.
The inaugural Gloucester Plein-Air Painters will be out and about in the town from October 13 to 18. Plein-Air (in the open air) is a term coined by the French impressionists over 100 years ago to describe painting outdoors, capturing natural light and atmosphere in the landscape, and translating those illusive qualities with paint to canvas.
After a week of hard work and fun in the community there will be a showing and sale of some paintings on Saturday 18 October in the streets and The Meeting Place.
Come along and see if you recognise your home, property or poddy calf in the artwork!
If you’d like to join or simply know more, call Jean Buettel on 65581218 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for the paintout venues.
