Platypus Spotting Evening | Fri 05 Sept 2014

Ever wanted to see a platypus in the wild? Join platypus expert Dr Tom Grant for an evening on the Barrington River this Friday 5 September learning how to spot this elusive creature!

Spotting will be followed by light refreshments and a short talk and is suitable for any child or adult who can sit quietly!  Meet at the end of Relfs Road, Gloucester at 5 pm for 5:15 start with an estimated finish time is 6:30 pm. Bring warm clothes, binoculars, a chair or picnic rug, a torch for finding your way back to your car, your questions and some patience!

The event will be cancelled in poor weather. Platypuses are known to live at this location, however sightings are not guaranteed.  This event is being organised by the Manning Great Lakes Platypus Awareness and Conservation Team as part of the Gloucester Platypus Festival (www.platypusfestival.com.au).

RSVP to Kirsty Hughes at MidCoast Water on  6592 4830 or pact@midcoastwater.com.au
