The extraordinary movie ‘A Plastic Ocean’ documents the environmental issues associated with plastic pollution & its impact on the environment, ecosystems & human health.
This free event coincides with World Environment Day and you’re invited to help celebrate this fantastic community initiative & find out how you can do your bit to help rid our environment of plastic bags & other soft plastics.
Boomerang Bags is a nation-wide initiative that works to reduce the use of plastic bags by engaging local communities to make ‘boomerang’ bags: cloth carry bags made from recycled fabric that allow shoppers to stop using plastic bags completely.
Boomerang Bags will launch in Gloucester on 6 June 2017 and bags will be available in local
outlets from this date. The local group has a target of 2,500 by the end of the year. If you’d like to do your bit for the environment, sewing bees take place on the 2nd & 3rd Friday of the month. Simply contact Peter Tynan on 0427 200 575 to join the movement!
